Sleep

Can’t Sleep?

There is probably nothing more debilitating than not being able to sleep, especially if it occurs night after night. It is during sleep that the body repairs itself from the ravages of the day so it is a vitally important component of everyone’s life.

Too little sleep can induce all kinds of unwanted conditions from body aches and pains to mental depression and inability to think or function. This does not help one lead a happy and fulfilling life so let’s see what can handle the sleep-depriving monster.

First of all, the inability to sleep is a symptom of deficiencies. That’s the simplicity of it. These deficiencies are seldom a single one so the first thing to do is to ensure that nutrition is adequate.

Secondly, an inability to sleep can be aggravated by an excess of certain things. Things such as too much sugar, too much refined carbs (white flour products like white bread, pastas, all refined food stuffs), too much light, too much caffeine, too much alcohol, to name some.

Calcium and Magnesium

Two very important requirements for a good night’s sleep are calcium and magnesium. An inability to sleep is also an inability to relax. In order for your body to relax it needs certain nutrients, including calcium and magnesium.

Calcium aids in the transportation of nerve impulses. When it is undersupplied, nerves become tense and one can find it very hard to relax and fall asleep.

Calcium Needs Magnesium: In order for your body to absorb calcium, it needs to be accompanied by its partner, magnesium, in a balanced ratio of two parts calcium to one part magnesium.

Calcium contracts your muscles while magnesium relaxes them and that’s a simple explanation of what these two minerals do.

Calcium and Magnesium Need Vitamin C: As both calcium and magnesium are alkaline, they need some kind of acid before they can be absorbed. Failing to have this combination can lead to increased deficiencies of calcium and/or magnesium or the calcium depositing in joints (arthritis) or kidneys (stones). You can use apple cider vinegar too but vitamin C is usually a more practical and better-tasting solution.

Why Instant CalMag-C Works: Instant CalMag-C has been formulated in a 2:1 blend of calcium gluconate and magnesium carbonate with vitamin C to adjust the pH so your body can actually absorb the calcium and magnesium.Unlike tablets and capsules that may or may not break down and be absorbed, Instant CalMag-C is ready for absorption the minute you make it. It’s almost like it has been pre-digested.

It is made with boiling water and this is very important as calcium particles are large and the chemical reaction (fizzing) created by dissolving the powder with boiling water breaks them down into smaller, absorbable ones. That’s why it absorbs so rapidly into your body and you can feel the difference.

Some Sleep Successes

Relaxed, Deep Natural Sleep: “I am SUPER happy with your product. I have tried other calmags but I think yours is the best. Besides getting relaxed and a very deep, natural sleep, I love the taste!!! I am giving it to my friends, and students. One of them had a really bad case of insomnia and as a consequence was very irritable and depressed. She is so thankful that I gave her CalMag-C. She is able to sleep again and she is much happier!” – M.O., California

Baby Not Sleeping: “Your newsletter is great – good stories of good results. I have a story of Instant CalMag-C. My friend’s 3 month old baby did not sleep well; she had little jerks in her little body when she was lying in her perambulator and she was extremely sensitive to sounds around her. I got my friend some Instant CalMag-C which she took every day and when she breastfed the baby, the calmag was given to the little one. Result: Baby slept like a log.” – E.D., Florida

Trouble Falling Asleep: “Did I tell you that I’m in Switzerland on vacation? My grandson is 15 and when I arrived he was having trouble falling sleep so I started giving him Instant CalMag-C every night just before bed. Now he seems to fall asleep readily. When I get back I would like to order some to send him. It works very well for him.” – E.B., Iowa

Sleep Like a Baby: “I love this stuff. When I drink it I sleep like a babe!” – L.S., Florida

Sleep The Night Through: “The whole house uses Instant CalMag-C. My children sleep the night through, my husband’s back has never been better and I am a much calmer Mom since using it. Thank you for such an awesome product. We all will certainly use it for many years.” – S.S., Pennsylvania

More Restful Night’s Sleep: “I recently started using Instant CalMag-C after exercising and I no longer experience that soreness associated with exercise. I also noticed more flexibility and greater range of motion in the joints as well as a more restful night’s sleep.” – D.C., Chiropractor, Clearwater, FL

Couldn’t Get To Sleep: “I really like your product. I now have my son, daughter, sister and my mother using Instant CalMag-C. It has been a god-send. I first had my 16-year-old son use it when we drove 3 hours to check out a college for him. He was so keyed up when we got to the hotel the night before he couldn’t get to sleep. Instant CalMag-C made him relax so he could go to sleep. I originally started using it because I have a bad back that keeps me in bed laying flat and sometimes I have problems sleeping, because of the pain. It helped me immediately. Thank you for a great product that has helped me so much.” – B.F., Cape Coral, FL

Slept a Lot Better: “I tried your product and also gave it to my husband and we both slept a lot better. Thanks for giving it to me.” – J.J., Oldsmar, FL

Calcium Also Needs Vitamins D & F: Most people know that vitamin D is needed to absorb calcium. This is correct but the vitamin D only absorbs it into your bloodstream. What most people don’t know is that, in order to get calcium from your bloodstream into your tissues, you need vitamin F (another name for essential fatty acids). Vitamins D and F need to be in balance with each other so make sure you take a good quality fish (or cod) liver or flax oil in your daily diet. They are very important for good hormonal function too.

We have not added vitamin D or F to Instant CalMag-C as they are both oil soluble vitamins whereas calcium and magnesium are water soluble and it’s not a good idea to mix them.

Here are Some Suggestions that Might Help Improve Your Sleep

  • Ensure that there your room is dark. (An excess of light can prevent the “sleep” gland from producing the sleep hormone melatonin.)

  • Do not consume caffeine beverages after 2pm. (An excess of caffeine can have the adrenals so “fired” up that the body just cannot “switch” off.)

  • Ensure that sugar and refined carbs intake (white flour products) is kept to a minimum, particularly after 6pm. (These convert to sugar in the body and cause blood sugar swings that can de-stabilize the blood sugar and cause erratic swings.)

  • Have a good meal with vegetables and protein (low blood sugar can aggravate sleep problems as the brain is deprived of good energy).

  • Take two rounded teaspoons of Instant CalMag-C before retiring.

  • Take a couple of tablespoons of Brewer’s Yeast Powder (I recommend Lewis Labs brand). This is high in the B vitamins and also helps to switch your “computer” off. (Please note that Brewer’s Yeast will not cause candida in your body as yeast does not grow on yeast.)

  • Ensure that you’re getting a good quality fish liver or flax oil in your diet (Omega 3), preferably in liquid form – take it with Lecithin granules.

  • In addition ensure you’re getting about 800 – 1200 iu vitamin E.

  • Work on improving your diet

  • Here’s to a good night’s sleep!
